MARSHALL BUILDING – In an unprecedented, shocking turn of events on Wednesday, the Marshall Building was broken into and looted by a gang of masked armed robbers. CCTV footage showed the group sauntering into the building and opening fire, before casually stealing £370,000 worth of IT equipment from the Department of Finance.

The robbery resulted in 17 people, and 2 KCL students heavily injured. And most tragically, 2 people were found dead. The horror of the event still lingers in the hallways of the Marshall building, and a sombre mood has descended upon campus. Amongst all this grief, the question remains: how did they get away with this?

According to LSE Security Representative, Lou E., the answer is cut and dry. In a statement to the Raccoon, he stated: “The robbers took advantage of an unforeseeable loophole in our otherwise watertight system – somehow, they knew that we start checking ID at 18:00. So they snuck in at 17:59 and committed the atrocity that they did. On behalf of security I express my sincerest condolences, but we did our best.”
